Spain and France Sign Agreement to Bring Art into Youth Education Misiones Salesianas & DBIMA ·
Paris, France, July 2023: A collaboration between Spain and France is putting cameras in the hands of young people — and using photography to spark real social change.
Under the Erasmus+ programme, Misiones Salesianas (Spain) and Don Bosco Intuition Entertainers Media (France) joined forces on the 2030Photojournalism project, running from April 2022 to August 2023.
The mission was to teach young people how a single photograph can shift public awareness and drive transformation in communities. The project successfully reached more than 100 participants through a series of practical workshops and learning activities.
In May 2023, DBIEM trainers conducted a full-day workshop at Ecole de Vie Don Bosco in Paris, covering camera techniques, group discussions, and field photography. A second workshop followed in July 2023 in partnership with Centre Ken Saro-Wiwa, where students and ACP volunteers refined their visual storytelling skills.
The project culminated on 9 July 2023 with a public dissemination event at Église Saint-Jean-Bosco, attended by over 100 people. Participants showcased their photographs through an exhibition that encouraged public dialogue and awareness around important social themes.
The evaluation highlighted strong collaboration and high-quality resources as major strengths of the project while recommending improved communication and follow-up between coordinators through regular cross-partner meetings.
